Step 1
We WON our union rights!
A YES on Question 3 vote created an option for rideshare drivers who work for both Uber and Lyft to join our union to negotiate for wages and benefits with both companies, for the entire sector.
Step 2
We can join our union, the App Drivers Union. Sign up today!
We join our union so drivers like us can have a voice in negotiating contracts with Uber and Lyft that will determine our pay and benefits in contracts (aka collective bargaining agreements). But first, we have to sign a union card to show that we have strength in numbers. Sign a card today!
Step 3
Create a CARD CHECK PROCESS through which drivers can establish recognition of their Union and proceed to bargaining a Contract
We show the companies and the state of Massachusetts that we support the App Drivers Union by filing the signed union cards. Once we secure our union rights at the ballot, if enough active drivers show their support for the App Drivers Union, the companies have to recognize us and sit down and negotiate with us once we file enough cards. Together, we can build the power to win a union contract that we can be proud of.
Step 4
Negotiate Our Union Contract
We have the freedom to sit at the table and negotiate a contract that locks in higher wages, better benefits, and improved working conditions while maintaining our flexibility. The App Drivers Union contract is negotiated by drivers.
Step 5
When a tentative contract agreement is reached, drivers vote on whether to ratify, or approve, the contract.
No contract is official unless a majority of drivers support it. You have a voice and a vote in deciding your contract. Your union does not take dues until you win a contract.
Step 6
If the agreement is approved by the drivers, it must be reviewed and approved by the state secretary of labor.
Any agreement approved by the secretary becomes binding upon the entire industry.
