The App Drivers Union is created by and for app drivers. It is backed by two of the largest and most powerful unions in the country: 32BJ Service Employees International Union and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
We are tired of the app companies treating drivers like we’re disposable, so we’re demanding that the app industry listen to us and negotiate better pay and fair treatment.
We won our union rights at the ballot, and now we will win our union, the App Drivers Union. But here’s what we are up against – the companies do not want drivers to win. They try to block us and delay our union every step of the way. In order to have a fighting chance against powerful companies, drivers need to be unified. We won’t let the companies divide us. We have to show strength in numbers at all times.
Thousands of drivers are signing cards to join the union. Once we have enough cards, the App Drivers Union will be officially recognized and the companies will have to sit down with us and bargain a contract that raises our pay and deals with deactivation.

SEIU has been at the forefront of the national gig workers organizing movement, teaming up with gig workers nationwide who are fighting to improve their jobs and transform the industry. Gig workers are organizing with SEIU in California, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Minnesota to demand better wages, accountability from the rideshare companies, safety measures, and more.
